Terrier Tales Reading Program enters 6th year

The Wofford College athletic department and Spartanburg County Public Libraries have teamed up for the 6th straight year to bring children around Spartanburg a special incentive-based reading program - "Terrier Tales."
Open to children age Pre-K through 8th grades in Spartanburg County, the program is designed to reward children for reading for enjoyment during the school year. Children who complete the program receive a free ticket to the Wofford football game on October 15, 2011 which will be the "Reading Celebration Game" at Wofford. There will be another "Reading Celebration Game" during basketball season on Saturday, December 3 (Men vs. The Citadel).
A special promotional poster (shown above) will be distributed to every participating elementary and middle school (public and private) in Spartanburg County. Contact your school's media specialist or librarian to find out if your school is participating in 2011. Packets will be mailed to participating schools in August.
To participate, children pick up a Terrier Tales bookmark at any of the ten SCPL locations or the library at a participating PreK-8th grade school in Spartanburg County. Upon completing the contact information found on the bookmark and by reading five books, the bookmark becomes a FREE ticket to the Wofford football or basketball "Reading Celebration Game" noted above. Parents who accompany their child to a Wofford game also receive a special discounted ticket as well!
